Yesterday, Labour forced a vote to call on the Prime Minister to stop the Tories pushing through their plan to allow councils to raise Council Tax by up to 5%.
I took part in the debate and highlighted the local government finance crisis that a decade of austerity and the covid-19 pandemic has caused. Pushing the burden of local government funding onto local taxpayers during the pandemic is absurd.
