Today it has been announced that Sheffield will return to tier 3 of restrictions once lockdown ends on December 2nd. This means that we will have to continue to live under similar restrictions to now, with all hospitality and entertainment remaining closed. I support restrictions to protect people’s health but this is a disappointing decision, given that Sheffield’s case numbers are now at a much lower level than when we entered tier 2 in October. The vast majority of local people have followed the restrictions very strictly and this has meant that we now have a rapidly decreasing infection rate. I urge everyone to continue to abide by the restrictions and hope that they can be relaxed within as short as possible a period of time.
